Neapolitan shortbread cookies

My Grandma used to make these neapolitan shortbread cookies every Christmas. This year I finally decided to make them myself.
Recipe:
- Butter or margarine, softened 1 cup
- Granulated sugar 1 cup
- Egg 1
- Vanilla 1 tsp
- All purpose flour 2 1/2 cups
- Baking powder 1tsp
- Salt 1/4tsp
- Red food coloring
- Chopped candied red cherries 1/4 cup
- Semisweet chocolate chips, melted 1/3 cup
- Chopped nuts 1/3 cup
- Coconut 1/3 cup
